Study Session by Mr. Kentaro Yamamoto from CPA Accounting Academy

On Monday, September 29, 2025, AIU Cedar Society hosted a study session featuring Mr. Kentaro Yamamoto as a guest speaker. Mr. Yamamoto is a popular instructor at CPA Accounting Institute and has a diverse career background, including serving as a CFO at a venture company and founding his own technology-driven startup. Approximately 40 students participated in the session, including AIU students aspiring to work internationally and students with a strong interest in accounting. The session was highly interactive, with active questions and discussions throughout.

During the study session, Mr. Yamamoto spoke in detail about the fundamentals of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification, how accounting knowledge can be leveraged to build a career, and entrepreneurship as a possible career path, all from his unique perspective. He also shared insights on the U.S. Certified Public Accountant (USCPA), making the session particularly valuable for students who aim to pursue international careers.

Participants shared many positive comments, such as: “This session sparked my interest in the CPA qualification,” “Thank you for such a motivating event,” and “It was a very meaningful two hours.” These responses indicate that the study session provided students with significant inspiration as they consider their future career choices.

Following the study session, CPA Accounting Institute kindly offered a Tokyo invitation program exclusively for AIU students. Students who developed an interest in becoming a CPA or USCPA through the session were invited to visit the CPA Accounting Institute’s Shinjuku campus, where they were able to gain a more practical and concrete understanding of these qualifications and related career paths. Through these initiatives, which connect on-campus learning with real-world opportunities, AIU Cedar Society was able to carry out activities that embody the practical learning it values.
