Event Details
On Friday, 12 June 2026, the university’s officially recognized student organization, the ‘AIU Cedar Society’, hosted a lecture featuring Mr Kenta Nagakura, an author, producer, and editor, on the theme of ‘The Art of Editing One’s Life: A Way of Thinking to Unlock Your Potential’.
On the day, approximately 100 people, including students, attended from both within and outside the prefecture, creating a valuable opportunity for exchange amongst participants of a wide range of ages and backgrounds.
During the lecture, Mr Nagakura spoke about the experiences he had cultivated whilst working in the United States and the perspectives he had gained through publishing numerous books, focusing on topics such as ‘cultivating one’s own unique value’.
Participants shared their thoughts, with comments such as: ‘I learned the importance of increasing the number of coincidences, and I saw a glimmer of hope that I might be able to view my own decisions in a positive light’; ‘I had been living with a focus on stability and felt frustrated because, although I wanted to change my circumstances, I couldn’t. I’ve decided to keep taking on challenges without shying away from failure, and to throw myself into things I find interesting,” and “I felt hopeful about steering my course towards things that are interesting and truly excite me from the bottom of my heart, and about making that my ‘right answer’.” It proved to be a meaningful opportunity for each participant to reflect on their future lives and the challenges they face.
